Welcome to Jewish Sephardic IMAGE Magazine |

Dear Readers,
In this issue of IMAGE we have many articles highlighting the wonderful events that take place in our community. There was a benefit for Imagine Academy, to enlighten the community about the needs of children with autism. The SCC held their annual bake sale. Hillel Yeshiva’s nursery students experienced an exciting day of apple picking, and David D. Tawil had a candid conversation with Barkai Yeshivah’s Judaic Studies Principal Rabbi Joseph Dweck and was kind enough to share it with us.
At the International Congress on Syrian Jews in the American Diaspora, a conference held recently in Mexico City, Brooklyn’s Syrian Jewish community took center stage. Sarina Roffé, a community member who has achieved international recognition for her research, provided an overview of the history of Brooklyn’s Syrian community from its inception in 1907 on the Lower East Side until today. We have a fascinating feature on page 20 which will make you feel like you were there. |
