On April 15, 2007, Yom Hashoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day), the Syrian community took their first-ever adult Heritage trip to Poland and Israel. 45 community adults spent five days paying respect to the dead in the concentration camps of Poland and then flew to Israel for Yom Hazikaron (Israel's Memorial Day to its fallen soldiers) and to celebrate Yom Ha'atzmaut (Israel's Independence Day).
