World War II, 1 Year, 2 Months ago

In World War II, Sephardim in Europe suffered the same fate as other Jews, and most perished during the Holocaust. In a few places, such as Holland, they received some preferential treatment, meaning they were among the last to be liquidated.

I'm glad you brought that to our atention. I think a lot of people are under the misconception that Sephardic Jews weren't as much victims of the Holocaust as other Jews, Gypsies, etc.
We're all brothers and sisters, we all suffered the same unspeakable fate.

The reason most people don't emphasize Sephardic Jews during the Holocaust is because most of them did not live in Europe. But yes, those who lived in Europe did suffer. There were communities in Greece that were entirely wiped out. Fortunately, many Sepharadim didn't suffer-but not because they were "different" than Ashkenazim, we ARE one nation--but because they happened to live elsewhere.
