These are terms used to describe the writer of a despicable article written about our community in the New York Times Magazine (10/14/2007 - Money - New York City - Syrian Jews - Syria - Finances - Business - Wealth - Brooklyn - New York Times ). Secrets unfolded-twisted words and new eyes watching us. Our terminologies are now public knowledge describing our slang terms in both personal and business. The closeness of the community has been our glue for survival. Describing to the world by speaking for close to one hundred thousand people is ludicrous. The community is not and never claimed to be Syrian. There is no membership for joining because it is not a club. Each sect of the community whether it be Egyptian Lebanese or Moroccan joined a force to make the community stronger and watch it grow. Discussing business matters of individuals in the community that is ancient history just to show an affiliation for a vile article was unnecessary and unwanted. Name throwing - Business Name throwing. Exposing peoples families and counting other peoples money on a pulpit was never the ways of the community. Misquoting and distorting the truth in a story to make it fit better is the ways of a desperate man trying to gain recognition off of something that he was blessed to be a part of. The envy of the world - The jewel of the Jewish world are terminologies used to describe our community. Having people put their eyes on us and letting them know things that should have been kept confidential are now out in the open. This is not only the most disgusting article my eyes have ever seen, but it put our community in danger. The danger of people watching our every move, watching our business trade, watching our schools our homes and our children. This article was a tool to make someone famous, but all he did was paparazzi the community and blemish something that took seventy five years to build and make beautiful. What he did can never be erased. It is easy for someone who did nothing to help build this community and make it was it was today to attack, but the people who did something that took decades to glorify has been besmudged by a gossip.

The SY comunity article and when in Florida

The best part of the SY Empire article is how the SY community took back in the crooked SY business people after they served time. This is a glowing example of what is wrong with the community. Yes, while these crooked people were rich with stolen or illgained money they contributed heavily-with their crooked money- to community projects and that is why they are accepted back into the SY community. This certainly is a bad example to the young people of the SY community. It tells them that it is OK to be crooked and steal because they will always be accepted within the communities.

The Brooklyn SY community that go to Miami and Aventura for the winter or during the holidays are arrogant, bad manered and simply create havoc among the permanent residents of condo buildings. They do not respect condo regulations, have disgusting habits like leaving garbage outside their apartment doors, cook their food with apartment door open to smell up the hallways. They leave a bad example to other people who share the building The children run havoc in the hallways, throw garbage out their windows and balconies, are loud, have dirty habits, are rude and ill mannered.They play basketball, tennis and other loud games in the hallways, bouncing balls on hallway walls disturbing the other dwelers of apartments. The SY parents approve of their behavior and resent when the the security staff asks them to behave and respect condo rules as well as what is considered general rules of behavior by educated condiderate people.Which they show they are not.
